Treat all the people, things, and environments around Yuasa M&B with sincerity. We are sure that the thoughts of each and every one of our employees will open the way to a brighter future.

We continuously promote CSR activities while always asking ourselves, “What should Yuasa M&B do now?” and “What can we do?”

As a concrete initiative, we established a committee in October 2007 to work on social initiatives from the point of view of each of the 5Es (Environment, Elder, Entertainment, Education, Energy), which are business concepts developed by Yuasa M&B.

Yuasa M&B shall always contribute to society through the 5Es, maintain an awareness of issues, and continuously determine ways to solve them.

Furthermore, we shall continue to actively contribute to environmental protection on a global scale and the sustainable development of society.

CSR Promotion System

CSR Committee

CSR-related activities such as environmental and social contributions thus far have been carried out individually. However, in order to integrate and promote these activities comprehensively, a CSR committee, the organization of which is shown below, was established in October 2007 to carry out activities.

The committee is chaired by the president and is comprised of full-time directors and managers of each business unit. Four committees have been established under the CSR committee to carry out activities: the Environment Protection Promotion Committee, Social Contribution Promotion Committee, Corporate Ethics Committee, and Risk Management Committee (safety and health, disaster prevention).

To promote CSR activities more aggressively, we are actively working on initiatives for global expansion and establishment of a PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Action) cycle for CSR in cooperation with the committees under the umbrella of the CSR committee.

Major Initiatives

Initiatives for Environmental Preservation (from Engines to Batteries)

The world is now facing unseasonable weather, rising sea levels, and other environmental changes due to global warming, as well as deforestation and desertification due to development. In addition, the very existence of living things is being threatened by the spread and accumulation of CO2, chlorofluorocarbons, dioxins, and other environmentally harmful substances.

Yuasa M&B places the highest priority on environmental preservation and conducts its corporate activities with the utmost care.

Specifically, we have

• endeavored to reduce CO2 as much as possible by replacing conventional engine-type forklifts with storage battery types and
• replaced engine-driven welding machines with battery-driven welding machines.
